Teams
Work on newsletters with other people.
Teams is a Team plan feature. If you're working solo, you don't need this.
What teams share
Everything created under a team is visible to all team members: publications, newsletters, subscribers, templates, and custom domains. When you switch to a team context (using the switcher in the sidebar), you're seeing and editing the team's stuff, not your personal account.
Creating a team
Go to Teams in the sidebar and click Create Team. Pick a name and username—the username becomes the team's public URL at teamname.joyful.to.
Inviting people
From your team page, click Invite Member, enter their email, and pick a role. They'll get an email with a link to join. You can cancel pending invitations if needed.
Roles
- Owner — Everything. Delete the team, manage billing, change anyone's role.
- Admin — Invite and remove members, manage publications, send newsletters.
- Editor — Create and edit newsletters, manage subscribers. Can't invite people.
- Member — View only. Good for clients or stakeholders who need visibility.
Most teams just need Owner + Editor. Add Admins when you want someone else to handle invitations without giving them billing access.
Real-time editing
The newsletter editor is multiplayer—multiple team members can edit the same draft simultaneously. You'll see each other's cursors and changes appear instantly.
Comments
Highlight any text and click the comment icon in the toolbar to start a discussion. Comments appear as yellow highlights in the document—click them to view the thread.
- Reply to keep the conversation going
- React with emoji (👍 👎 ❤️ 😂 and more)
- Resolve when the feedback is addressed—the highlight turns green
- Delete when you're done (requires confirmation)
Comments sync in real-time, so your whole team sees updates as they happen.
Review workflow
For formal review workflows, use comments to request changes before sending. Resolve all comments before hitting send to make sure everyone's feedback is addressed.
Managing members
Click the role dropdown next to any member to change their role. Click Remove to kick them out. You can't change your own role (to prevent accidentally locking yourself out).
Deleting a team
Only owners can do this. Scroll to Danger Zone on the team page. This permanently deletes everything—publications, newsletters, subscribers, all of it. There's no undo.
